Hot Springs National Park
Trip Assistant
How Much Time?
Hot Springs is a quick stop for most visitors. Stop in at the visitor center, join a tour if possible, stroll along Bathhouse Row (maybe grab a craft beer or traditional massage or both), walk the Grand Promenade, and then head up to Hot Springs Mountain (driving or hiking) to check out the views and maybe climb the tower at the top. There are a few more trails in the surrounding hills, if you’re looking for more to do.
Need to Know
- There’s quite a bit of street parking and a free garage at 128 Exchange Street.
- This is the only park with a craft brewery!
- And two operational bathhouses (links in the highlights)!

If you haven’t been to the south in summer, it’s the kind of weather where most people just move from one air-conditioned space to another.

Helpful Tools
Below you'll see a Google Map to help plan road trips from the east (Nashville, TN), north (Gateway Arch), west (Albuquerque, NM), and south (New Orleans, LA). It’s a good start, but I’d highly recommend making your own. Google My Maps, Wanderlog, and TripIt are incredibly useful trip planning tools. Find what works best for you!
There’s much more to our country. Here’s another Google Map with points of interest across all types of public land.
For campers, here’s a Google Map with National Forest campgrounds. National Park campgrounds are difficult to reserve (there are about 200!). With nearly 5,000 national forest campgrounds, you can usually pull in and find a spot.
